For the second consecutive year, Lem Maurer of Maurer Photography has earned the designation of, “South Dakota’s Photographer of the Year.” Presented by the South Dakota Professional Photographer’s Association, the award is South Dakota’s most outstanding award for achieving excellence in photography. It was presented at the recent Northern Light Professional Photographers of America Convention in Breezy Point, MN. The regional event includes the three states of SD, ND, and MN. Maurer also captured awards with South Dakota’s two highest scoring wedding prints: The “Top Wedding Print” and the “Kodak Photo Excellence Award.”

The Print Case submitted for judging included three wedding portraits and an image of three little boys in a fishing boat. Three of the four images earned a Merit and Seal of Approval from the Professional Photographers of America, and it was their combined print scores that garnered Maurer the “Photographer of the Year” award.
